My second "Hobby" :-)

Mmm....what can I say here?

OK. I walked into a shop in 1999 and found a game called "X-Beyond The Frontier". It was a computer game for the PC and the pictures of "space" type things on the box caught my eye. I lifted the box off the shelf, turned it around and read the word "Elite" on the back cover. That was enough for me as Elite had fulfilled many a night of fun as a young boy on my BBC micro, loaded from a tape drive I might add.

Game purchased, I stepped back into my childhood. Awestruck. Captivated. A place to escape to and then they brought out an add-on, aptly named "X-Tension". More fun followed.

Having the internet brought me eventually to the "X forums". A place where like minded space "geeks" hung out and discussed the game, space and the meaning of life.

I'm still there. But now I help run it. Click here to go see for yourself the mad-house that is our little corner of the internet.

I like people, like minded people sure, smart people even better. This community of space people is full of people that have brain power to spare, that stay up 'till the early hours using it and generally throw all that racist garbage out the window. That'll do for me :-)

I am constantly in awe at the talent, both within Egosoft itself and the community in general.
