Who is Steel ... ?

Darren Astles, Male, Born 1967 in Middlewich, Cheshire, England.

Youngest son of three to parents Cliff and Barbara.

Why Steel ... ?

Two reasons really. Well when I first joined the net way back in the late 80's (although it was the early 90's before it became truly useful), I noticed that everybody had a "handle" or an "online" name. Not wanting to be the odd one out with my peers and in need of a name so that I could register for playing strategy games online (Darren just didn't cut it ;-), I settled on Steel.

I guess it's linked to my personality. As in "nerves of..." *shrugs*, not sure. Maybe it's my interest in swords or WWII that swayed it. But it's probably the "nerves of Steel" bit. If you've been for a little ride with me in my car, you'll understand.

Yes. The (only) person I take my orders from is below ;-).

Mmm...actually Mandy (Amanda, my wife) is with my daughter Lauren. I guess that makes two people I take orders from huh?

Teenager... ?

This is a picture of Uffy (Paul), me and Sniper (Paul) on our way back from France and Spain. I can't remember the exact date of this, but it was mid-eighties. Of course, we don't see as much of each other nowadays, but this harks back to some crazy times. Ah.....teenage years!
